Mike Norris of the Kingston Whig Standard wrote a story about how we kids are making a difference in Haiti and I am featured on my PIGGY BANK program around Canada.
"KJ Taiwo, 9, a student at Holy Family Catholic School, is donating his piggy bank, which he has been filling since last January, to the Red Cross.
"The images of the children in Haiti really bothered him," said his mother, Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo, who moved to Kingston from Toronto with her family two months ago.
"One day he woke up and said he was going to give his entire piggy bank to the Red Cross."
Rather than open the bank, Taiwo wants to hand it over intact.
"There's lots of quarters, dimes, toonies and loonies in it," said Omololu- Olunloyo. "Probably at least $50."
Taiwo, a budding journalist who has his own website, thekidreporter.com,is issuing a challenge to help Haitian relief efforts.
"He wants all the kids in Kingston to do the same, to donate their piggy banks," said his mother."
