1 out of 5 suicide bombers in Nigeria is a kid #BokoHaram

Boko Haram child "suicide bombings" have surged 11-fold in West Africa in the last year, with children as young as eight, mostly girls, detonating bombs in schools and markets, a leading charity has said.

One in every five "suicide bombers" used by Boko Haram in the past two years has been a child, a report released on Tuesday by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) said .

Suicide bombings have spread beyond Nigeria's borders, with an increasing number of deadly attacks carried out by children with explosives hidden under their clothes or in baskets.

"The use of children, especially girls, as so-called suicide bombers has become a defining and alarming feature of this conflict," Laurent Duvillier, regional spokesman for UNICEF, told the Thomson Reuters Foundation on Tuesday.

The 35-year-old entrepreneur told PEOPLE magazine during an appearance in Las Vegas on April 8 that she’s trying to keep uber-jealous North West, 2, happy while spending time with four-month-old Saint West at the same time! What’s a mom to do?

“My daughter [North] is still in the little jealous phase and that’s really hard for me because she gets so jealous when I try to do anything with [Saint]. So I sneak moments with him, or have my husband [Kanye West] entertain her, and I have to separate it sometimes,” Kim told PEOPLEmagazine.

You can’t really blame Nori; whenever she’s with mom and dad, she’s having tons of fun! North got to go with the whole Kardashian-Jenner family on an amazing vacation to Vail, Colorado, to see the snow and try skiing and snowboarding! She even got to play dress-up with BFF/cousinPenelope Disick, 3, and wear “hair extensions.” We bet there was some hot chocolate involved too!

Two of Donald Trump's kids can't vote for him in the New York Primaries

Two of Donald Trump’s children won’t be able to vote for their father in the New York primary next week, after failing to change their party affiliation in time for the state’s 19 April primary.

“They feel very, very, guilty,” Donald Trump said of his two children, Ivanka and Eric, who are both New York residents.

Both Trump children are registered to vote as independents, and therefore cannot participate in New York’s Republican primary.

The deadline for the two to change their party affiliation under the state’s stringent voter registration laws was 9 October, 2015. In contrast, the deadline for new voters to register was on 25 March, nearly a month before the Empire State’s contest. Ironically, considering her miscue, Ivanka Trump has appeared in videos encouraging Trump supporters to register to vote and change their party affiliation since missing the deadline.

Prince William and Kate visit street children in India

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have visited a charity working with street children in India on the third day of their South Asia tour.

Prince William and Catherine saw how the Salaam Baalak Trust provides support for working children in Delhi.

Later, during a meeting with India's PM Narendra Modi, the duke discussed pressures on the steel industry, the Press Association news agency reported.

The royals are on a seven-day tour of India and neighbouring Bhutan.

The duke's discussion with Mr Modi comes during a crisis facing the UK's steel industry, which has been blamed on the "dumping" of Chinese steel, relatively high energy prices and the extra cost of climate change policies.

Fat Dog named "Fat Vincent" now called "Skinny Vinny" after dramatic weight loss

A dachshund in Houston has gone from chunky to hunky in a dramatic weight loss journey thanks to the help of folks at a rescue group in "Space City."

Eight-year-old Vincent was surrendered over to K-9 Angels Rescue in Houston eight months ago after his owner died. When he was brought in, he could barely walk and was weighing in at an obese 38 pounds, according to Fox 31 in Denver.

"At his original BMI, he was at a severe risk for arthritis, diabetes, reduced mobility, increased physical injury that can lead to paralysis of the hind legs, cancer, respiratory disease, kidney disease, pancreatic and shortened life expectancy," his Veterinarian Sharon Anderson told the Colorado TV station.

Ryan Edwards has always been a picky eater. He won’t go near any kind of meat except some types of chicken fingers. The mere mention of eggs makes him shudder. Vegetables make him gag.

“My big staple is grilled cheese,” the 19-year-old says.

Edwards says he’s not troubled about his diet from a nutrition standpoint — he also loves fruit, and he says he feels perfectly healthy. But the social challenge of having such a limited diet often makes him feel awkward and self-conscious.

So he recently went through a six-week program at Duke University designed to helps teens and adults eat foods that their senses tell them to reject.

Court Grants N50,000 Bail to Nigerian teenage accused of THEFT

Lots of teenagers stealing things in Nigeria these days. A Tinubu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, on Monday admitted a 19-year-old man, Muyideen Ariremako, to bail in the sum of N50,000 for alleged burglary.

The Magistrate, Mrs Memunat Folami, ordered the defendant to produce two reliable sureties in like sum.
She adjourned the case till May 16 for hearing.

Ariremako of no fixed address was arraigned on a four-count charge of conspiracy, intent to commit felony, burglary and stealing.
He burgled the apartment of Modupe Yusuf and stole items valued N120,000.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Prosecutor Philip Osijiale told the court that the defendant conspired with some others still at large and burgled the apartment at No. 4 Powerline Street, Oke-Ira Kekere, Ajah, Lagos.

He said that on Feb. 29 the defendant used the window to gain access into the apartment and stole one LG Plasma television and two phones.

Osijiale said the defendant was caught by Yusuf’s neighbours who saw him jumped out of the apartment through the window.

He said the offences contravened Sections 285, 306, 348 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. (NAN)

Israeli Police accused of ABUSING detained Palestinian minors

Human Rights Watch accused Israeli forces of using unnecessary force while arresting and interrogating Palestinian minors.

A statement by the group also said that arrests of children have increased dramatically since an outbreak of violence erupted in the region in October 2015 that has left over 200 people dead.

Israeli rights group B’Tselem reported that 415 Palestinian minors are currently being held in Israeli prisons – up from just 193 in September 2015.

"Interviews with children who have been detained, video footage and reports from lawyers reveal that Israeli security forces are using unnecessary force in arresting and detaining children, in some cases beating them, and holding them in unsafe and abusive conditions," Human Rights Watch said in their statement.

The rights group cited figures from B’Tselem and UNICEF as well as interviewing three young men – one from the West Bank and two from Israel – annexed east Jerusalem. All three minors reported being slapped, hit, kicked or being put in a chokehold upon their arrest.
